The journey to Easter through
Lent in preparation for Easter has been divided since the old church into two parts: the pre-Lenten and then the 40 days of Lent. While the Orthodox, Anglicans and Protestants, the pre-Lenten [at least in theory] yet know, was the pre-Lenten in the Catholic Church in the train of the liturgical reform in 1970 abolished.
It is an ancient liturgical principle that solid circles already long ago announced and "prepared" to be. Behind it probably a good psychological sense to put our human weakness and inability to stop just 'so' our state of mind to something, or even to change our behavior. Before Lent, our focus should be directed to the first time on the meaning of the exercise.
Fasting means not ascetic renunciation. What is' fast 'actually is, I want to pursue the next '70' days in this blog only. So, no daily observations to-was-too-accessible and be it ever so Catholic, but single-issue focus on the journey back after Easter.
The reality of my Christian life is not so, as it should be. As far as I'm honest with myself. I do not live only in the 'faith, love, hope,' but let me distract you from all possible rubbish live, too much 'in the world. " Jesus said : rather seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. I always forget.
Today is the first Sunday of the pre-Lenten, the Septuagesima. In the Introit for St.. Mass in the extraordinary form is Psalm 18, 5-7 pointed to one aspect of the coming mystery.
surrounded the bonds of death me, the torrents of Belial startled me, and the shackles of the dead embraced me, it overtook me, the snares of death. In my distress I called upon the Lord and cried to my God, he heard my voice in his temple, my screams penetrated him to his ears.
