interesting subject, poor implementation ...
blurb of the contents:
You got me first seen. At the airport, on that day in August. Your intense look, I was never someone so viewed. I've trusted you. Then you've kidnapped me. Out of my life, away from everything I knew. Into the middle of nowhere, in sand and heat and dirt and danger. You thought that I fall in love with you. And there in the middle of nowhere, in sand and heat and dirt and danger, I've fallen in love with you. But I wish I could hate you
Synopsis
A very gripping and moving on. that, in my opinion, weakened somewhat in execution.
In itself, "I wish I could hate you" by Lucy Christopher a good novel, which is very detailed and intense with the theme: abduction and called the phenomenon of * love-hate "for the kidnappers, in technical jargon: Stockholm Syndrome called, busy. However, I am convinced the book does not appeal to all or unfortunately.
I am surprised that there simply are so many consistently good reviews ..... maybe it is because I am an outsider, the kidnappers Ty, am, or I might even read another book? joke
Why can it weakened somewhat in my eyes I hope I run a plausible and: 1 I had the situation a little too stiff and planned: "How could the hijackers know that Gemma (principal and sufferers abductees) wins dispute with her parents and thus alone on Flughafenin Bangok staying Well maybe he thought to himself, too: For the emergency, I always drop my co with me, so I can pour it on demand and on occasion to drink? " And 2 why the hell he kidnapped them and tried not to flirt usual way to end up with her, if he's still so in love with her? Finally, it has never before given him even a discharge ... Well is indeed not care why he kidnapped, ultimately made me a lot of detailed history, or you yet put to very great sense of chaos something, I must admit. Also felt that nothing really dramatic happened, but disappointed me etwas.Es had such a flair to everything from a standstill, which is not really evolved with lines ... Moments of anxiety or Mitfühlszenarien I consistently can not simply get carried away, that is a shame because I normally always very happy with the main character and cheer suffer. However, this may be because that was unappealing to me Gemma. I had almost everything relating to Ty, but to her .... this is really more than funny how I must admit.
--------------------
What I found more than appealing and the book was worth reading is the class of writing which reads very smoothly and with the perspective I catapults him into the action. And the feeling that the area was brought over well, I could literally the vast and empty desert of Australia, see the Outback formally before me. The desperation of Gemma and her fruitless attempts to escape were brought over very well. Even their change in their feelings for their captors to recreate .... finally built some time after a bond of familiarity and friendship that is to understand their situation well ....
However, I was a bit too long, I think that word makes my feelings about this book excellent! A bit more tension, drama and goose bumps to have heard of me yet, but yes, these are things that you do not abductees really want ...... but regarded as a book alone, it could very well may have more spice :-)
